There's always a bit of panic whenever Venus goes Retrograde (Oct 3rd-Nov 14th). Because Venus rules love, beauty, attraction, and devotion. Google will tell you not to start new relationships, not to make cosmetic changes, and to never cast love spells because "the energy is reversed or can backfire."

WHAT VENUS RETROGRADE ACTUALLY MEANS

The Common Belief: Love fails, communication breaks down, exes come back only to cause chaos, and love spells backfire or stagnate.

The Reality: Venus Retrograde strips away illusions. It pulls hidden feelings, suppressed obsession, and unresolved romance straight to the surface where they can no longer be ignored.

I’m a Chaos Witch.

While I honour and follow moon phases for specific energetic tides, I don’t allow the retrograde to affect my workings. In my entire life and practice, I have literally had one single day during a retrograde that genuinely disrupted my communication, but it could have been my hormones 😅

MY STANDPOINT: CHAOS MAGICK OVER PLANETARY LIMITS

Venus Retrograde awakens nostalgia, longing, and unfinished business in your target's mind. Traditional astrologers will tell you to wait, but many practitioners such as occultists, folk magic practitioners and chaos witches knows this is the precise window where an ex or avoidant target is most vulnerable to energetic pulls.

SOOO.. DO WE WAIT OR DO WE CAST?

If you wait for the "perfect astrological conditions" to fix your relationship, you will be waiting forever, it’s either going to work out or it’s not.

I choose my casting days based on current energies. Sometimes I’ll work with the moon phase, other times I’ll assess the weather. Choosing a day also depends on which deity or goetic spirit i'm invoking.

I'll continue to offer and execute love spells, road openers, and bindings throughout this entire Venus Retrograde. -Elisabeth
